Taping (rigid & kinesiology tape)

The use of taping is a great way of having treatment outside of the clinic room. All our Podiatrists can use kinesiology tape and rigid tape to help with our patients’ conditions and pain. With each tape having a different texture, stretch, adhesive, and reasoning for application, your Podiatrist will use their knowledge to work out what tape and taping technique will be best for your condition.

Common conditions and reasons why taping would be necessary include:

  • Stability and support of a weak or unstable joint

  • Plantar fasciitis

  • Muscular tightness decompression

  • Decrease swelling

  • Knee pain

Taping can be applied to anyone (except those who are allergic - however, we do have hypoallergenic tape in these cases where we can do a base layer to the tape to prevent this)! It doesn't matter if you are highly active, or spend lots of time sitting at a desk, taping can help with everyone's pain and discomfort!
